A lesson on learning about the necessary requirements for different careers.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this section, participants will be able to:

  • Understand that different careers require different training.
  • Understand the different types of training and education available.
  • Demonstrate that understanding through completion of tasks.

Suggested/Recommended Grades:

9th-12th grade, Secondary Education, High School and Special Education

Apprenticeships

SCUBA divers need to be certified by an agency like NAUI or PADI. This course can take several weeks or months.  They need to be comfortable underwater.  If a person is afraid of enclosed spaces, they would not be comfortable 60 feet under water.  They need to be in good physical shape.  Divers who have only dived in warm waters have died when putting on the wetsuits that are required for diving off the coast of California and Oregon.
