DIFFICULT PEOPLE LESSON PLAN

 

Teaching Materials:

• One copy per student of the comprehension passage and the activity sheet. Dealing with Difficult People Lesson - (see below for printable lesson)

Procedure:

Teachers may either print out the lesson and have students read it themselves, or use the lesson for your own business skills lesson.

Method:

Introduce the topic by explaining that we all need to deal with difficult people and that we can cope with such situations by being able to recognize difficult behavior and improving our techniques for handling it.

Debrief: Check the answers.

Inevitably we occasionally meet people we find hard to work with; indeed we are sometimes difficult ourselves. We have to remember that anyone is potentially difficult: what we really have to think about is the behavior rather than the person. 

No absolute definition of difficult behavior exists—much depends on the situation and the relationship. For example, two people may react entirely differently to the same boss.
