- Discuss reciprocals of whole numbers
- Demonstrate multiplying by whole numbers
- Demonstrate dividing by whole numbers
- Reinforce idea of reciprocals
- Multiply fractions by fractions
- Introduce improper fractions and mixed numbers
- Work through examples
- Divide fractions by fractions
- Introduce improper fractions and mixed numbers
- Work through examples
- Introduce concept of lowest terms
- Ask class to define – see if they bring in the concept of “prime factors” on their own
- Work through examples
- Talk about complex fractions
- Ask class how they would tackle solving a problem
- Work through examples
Assessment/Evaluation
Have students complete the worksheet. A passing grade is 70% or greater.
