JOB INTERVIEW
OVERVIEW LESSON PLAN
Materials:
Procedure:
Print out the lesson and either let students read it themselves, or use the lesson for teaching an introduction to interviewing.
Do companies interview every job applicant? No.
They prescreen. If you do not meet the preliminary qualifications, you are not interviewed.
Some jobs that require interviews:
- Jobs working with the public
- Jobs answering telephones
- Jobs where special skills are needed (accounting, finance, banking)
Some jobs that would not require interviews:
- Digging ditches
- Pruning trees
- Digging graves
Task:
Ask students to talk to a few
friends or family members that
have gone on interviews. What
did they like or did not like
about the interview process?
Assessment:
The lesson worksheet includes
questions to test
students' knowledge and
understanding of the interview lesson material.
