Excerpt from Lesson:
Culture may be defined as a set
of values shared by a particular group of people
that influence behavior. The group sharing the
culture might be a region, a nation, or an
organization such as a company. A company’s
operating culture is likely to be closely linked to
the wider social culture from which it originated.
In these days of increasing globalization, many
people working in international business can find
that their company culture works better in some
contexts than in others. Therefore, when thinking
about organizational culture, we need, therefore, to
be aware of the wider cultural variations that exist
across the world.
We are all affected deeply by
the norms and values of our own culture. Mostly, we
obey these rules and operate within these values
unconsciously.
