WORKSHEET AND LESSON PLAN
INSTRUCTIONS
This worksheet involves counting and adding
coins.
Students are to write the amount of each coin
under the coin. For each additional coin, the amount written
should include the value of that coin plus all previous coins.
Then, in the last line write the total amount. For example,
quarter, dime, nickel would show 25, 35, 40. Then write 40
on the total line.
As an option, students may also write the coin
value under each coin without "counting on". Then, only
write the sum of the coins on the last line.
This worksheet may be used in many different
ways depending on the skill level of your students. For students
just beginning to identify coins, configure the worksheet to use
only one type of coin (such as all pennies). Then slowly add
additional types of coins. More advanced students can
increase the number of coins, and also count all types of coins. |
