Suggested Money Lesson Plan for this Worksheet

Teach your students how to identify coins and the value of each coin type.

.

WORKSHEET Instructions

Have students place an "X" on the coins that match the first coin.  In addition, students may write the number of matching coins they have found in the space provided.

This worksheet may be adjusted according to the skill level of your students.  For students just beginning to identify coins, configure the worksheet to use only one type of coin (such as all pennies).  Then slowly add additional types of coins.  More advanced students may increase the number of coins, and also identify all types of coins.  Also, change to coin values or coin names.

CREATE YOUR OWN WORKSHEET

Create a more difficult, or easier worksheet to stress

specific coin types.  Select number of

questions, types of coins, number of coins (including random),

types of coins to find and search,

and face pictures.  Focus on specific coins, or use multiple types.

Number of questions

SELECT ALL COIN TYPES DESIRED:

 Pennies

 Nickels

 Dimes

 Quarters

Coin Type to find:

This is the coin to search for.  Choices include either

using a picture of a coin, using a coin with the amount

written on it, or using a coin with the word of the coin

name written on it.

Coin Type to search:

Same type of choices as above.  This is for the coins

being searched.

Maximum number of

coins per question

Increase the number of coins to have more coins to

search.  If you increase this number, you many wish

to decrease the number of questions on the page.

Random number of coins

Face pictures

You may remove the face picture for older students.
