Suggested Money Lesson Plan
for this Worksheet
Estimate means to "calculate approximately."
Explain that when shopping, it is useful to keep
track of what you are buying by estimating a running total.
Then you will know how much you expect to spend when you get to the
cashier. Besides grocery shopping, can the students think of any other
situations where estimates may be useful?

WORKSHEET Instructions
The student should fill in the first column
"estimate" with an estimate of the item. First calculate the
estimate, either to the nearest .10 or dollar, then multiply this
estimate times the number of units of the item. In the
second column, keep a running total of the estimates. Then,
the student can learn to more quickly keep track and add items.
