It explains the basic reasons for saving, introduces the idea of a bank savings account, and presents a simple savings plan students can apply to their own allowance or gift money. A printable worksheet is included for practice.
The lesson works well as a standalone introduction or as the opening activity for a broader banking or personal finance unit. Follow it with “What Is a Savings Account?” to deepen understanding of how interest and FDIC insurance work for students who are ready to go further.
