Lesson sequence
- Introduction (5 min). Introduce side hustles and why they’ve become popular. Ask students if they or someone they know earns money on the side.
- Watch the video (15 min). Play the lesson video. Ask students to note what a side hustle is and why people start one.
- Discussion (12 min). Cover types of side hustles, the benefits (faster debt payoff, more savings, financial independence) and the challenges (time, balance).
- Activity — brainstorm + plan (15 min). Students brainstorm side hustles based on their skills, interests, and market gaps, then pick one and draft a basic plan (goal, first steps, challenges).
- Quiz (8 min). Students complete the printable quiz; the answer key is included for teacher use.
