How It Works
Make a page of checks in four steps
- Set your options. Choose how many checks per page (1–3) and how many pages, the starting check number, and whether to show the routing line.
- Personalize (optional). Turn on Show account-holder name & address and paste your students’ names so each check is made out in a real student’s name, or leave the lines blank for students to fill in.
- Generate. Press Generate worksheet — the tool prints clean blank checks with fresh random routing and account numbers and sequential check numbers.
- Print or re-roll. Press Print for ready-to-use practice checks, or ↻ New version for new account and check numbers.
In the Classroom
Six ways to use it
Check-writing practice
Hand out blank checks and have students fill in the date, payee, amount in numbers and words, and a signature.
Spelling out amounts
Practice writing dollar amounts in words on the DOLLARS line — a key real-world check-writing skill.
Classroom economy
Print a stack of checks for a pretend classroom bank or store so students can “pay” for jobs and purchases.
Cut-apart practice checks
Print 3 per page and cut them out for a checkbook activity or a banking learning center.
Custom lesson sheets
Add your own lesson text or a word problem above the checks, then print 1–2 checks per page with room to work.
Sub plans & homeschool
Print a ready-to-go page of blank checks for an instant, no-prep banking lesson at school or home.

- Write a dollar amount in numerals in the box and in words on the DOLLARS line
- Understand the parts of a check — memo/FOR line, signature, and check number
- Recognize the routing and account numbers on the bottom (MICR) line
- Keep checks in order using sequential check numbers
Common Questions
Blank Check Generator FAQ
Do I need a membership to use the blank check generator?
Yes — the generator is a full Money Instructor membership feature (the paid plan, not a free account). Full members can make and print unlimited pages of custom blank checks. If you just need a quick download, the printable check PDFs are free.
How do I get fresh checks?
Press ↻ New version (or change any option and press Generate worksheet). Each run uses new random routing and account numbers, so you can print an endless supply of practice checks.
Can I put my students’ names on the checks?
Yes. Turn on Show account-holder name & address, then paste your class list into the Student names box (one per line). Each check is made out in a student’s name. Leave the box blank to use built-in names, or leave the option off for blank lines students fill in themselves.
How many checks print on a page?
Choose 1, 2, or 3 checks per page, and 1 to 10 pages. Three per page is great for cutting out practice checks; one per page leaves room to add your own lesson text or a word problem.
Are these real checks?
No. These are practice checks for learning only — the bank, routing, and account numbers are made up. They cannot be used to withdraw or transfer real money.
What grade levels is it for?
It works for upper-elementary through adult learners — anyone learning how to write and read a check.
