How It Works
Make a worksheet in four steps
- Choose the purchases. One to four — a blank check is printed for each one.
- Choose the ending. Purchases only, or purchases then a deposit so students add as well as subtract.
- Generate. Press Generate worksheet — a fresh story, fresh amounts and a fresh starting balance.

What It Teaches
Money skills students build
A blank check teaches students to fill in a check. It does not teach them that the money has gone. This worksheet joins the two: the check is written, the register is updated and the balance is lower, which is the part people actually get wrong. Do I need a membership to use this generator?

How is this different from the Blank Check Generator?
The blank check generator prints empty checks and nothing else — no story, no amounts, no register and no answer. This one gives students a starting balance and a short spending story, prints a check for each purchase and a register to record them in, and has a right answer you can mark.
Can the balance ever go negative?
No. The purchases are always drawn against the money actually in the account, so the running balance stays positive on every line. (The original 1990s worksheet could overdraw the account, which is confusing on a sheet whose whole point is watching the balance come down.)
Can I use whole dollars for younger students?
Yes. Leave Use dollars and cents off and every amount is a whole number of dollars, so the subtraction is the lesson rather than carrying cents.
Is there an answer key?
Yes. Keep Include answer key on and the tool prints the completed register — every row, every running balance and the ending balance. Set Number of worksheets up to 5 for different versions.
Can I personalize the worksheet?
Yes — add your students’ names and the account holder on the checks and in the story becomes that student, so each worksheet feels personal.
