Skip Counting Coins Worksheet Generator
Make worksheets that teach skip counting with coins. Each row shows a line of the same coin — nickels, dimes, or quarters — and students write the running total under each one, counting by 5s, 10s, or 25s. Every total is computed, with a built-in answer key. Included with your full Money Instructor membership.

How It Works
Make a worksheet in four steps
- Set the options. Choose which coin to count by (nickels, dimes, quarters, or mixed), the longest row, how many rows, and the coin style — realistic color, printer-friendly black & white, coins that show their value as a scaffold, or simple named coins. Keep the answer key on.
- Generate. Press Generate worksheet — the tool builds rows of coins with a blank under each to fill in.
- Students skip count. They write the running total under each coin (5, 10, 15…) and the final total at the end.
- Print or grade. Keep Include answer key on to print a completed copy, or press ↻ New version for fresh rows.

Common Questions
Skip Counting Coins FAQ
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes — choose the Line art coin style for printer-friendly black-and-white coins, which uses noticeably less ink than the color coins. You can also pick Show values so each coin prints its worth (25¢) as a scaffold for students who are still learning coin values, or Simple coins for named coins with no artwork at all.
Do I need a membership to use this generator?
Yes — the generator is a full Money Instructor membership feature. Full members can make and print unlimited worksheets with answer keys. The page itself is free to read.
Which coins can students count by?
Nickels (by 5s), dimes (by 10s), and quarters (by 25s) — one coin per sheet, or a mixed sheet with all three.
Does it include an answer key?
Yes. Leave Include answer key checked and a completed copy prints on its own page, with the running total under each coin.
What grade levels is it for?
It is best for kindergarten through second grade, or any student building coin-counting and skip-counting fluency.
Can I make more than one worksheet?
Yes — set Number of worksheets up to 5, and each gets its own rows. Press New version any time for a fresh sheet.
How is this different from counting money?
Counting money mixes different coins; this focuses on skip counting a row of the same coin, the step before adding mixed coins.
