WORKSHEET Instructions

The first column of the worksheet is the change your student has.  The next column is the cost of an item he or she is buying.

Students should fill in the next two columns.  First calculate the amount of change that should be given based on the cost.  Then students should calculate the change that would be given in return.

You may make the activity more challenging by requiring the students to pick the change that would require the smallest amount of change in return.
