MONEY WORKSHEET INSTRUCTIONS AND
LESSON PLAN
Many students, including some special education
students, have difficulty with giving and making change. For
many of these students, one method is to teach to ignore the
amount after the decimal, by estimating, and instead give one dollar more.
If one dollar more is not available, then students should give the
nearest dollar amount that they have available.
Have students place an "X" on the
money that rounds up to one dollar more than the amount given.
In other words, drop the number after the decimal, and add one
dollar. So $3.47 would be rounded to $4.00. In this example, 4 dollar bills would be
marked with an X on the worksheet.
This worksheet may be adjusted according to the
skill level of your students. For students just beginning
counting money and making change, configure the worksheet to use only one type of
money
(such as only dollars). Then slowly add additional types of
money.
Multiple currencies are available. If you
need a particular currency that is not available, please send us a
suggestion by using the link at the bottom of this page.
